SUMOCHAM Drills
ISCAR's new SUMOCHAM drill family is an advanced development of the extraordinarily effective CHAMDRILL and CHAMDRILLJET drill families. The drill features twisted coolant nozzles with indexable drilling heads which are available in different head configurations for a range of material groups. SUMOCHAM drills can be used on milling centers or lathes.
SUMOCHAM includes four different standard drill head geometries, designed for optimal performance and high reliability. The drill head is made with a sharp cutting edge and polished flutes. SUMOCHAM drilling heads are available in the diameter range of 8 to 25.9 mm. The drill head has ground flutes for smooth, continuous chip flow and a ground gash for improved penetration.
The drill shank design is in accordance to DIN 9766 standard, with obtainable drilling depth to diameter ratios of 1.5XD, 3xD, 5XD and 8xD. All drill bodies showcase coolant through holes. The accurate cylinder added to the clamping portion increases rigidity and reduces internal stresses. The rotation stopper planes are precisely ground, which increase the control on the drilling head position and support, increasing tool performance and life. ISCAR's innovative SUMOCHAM drill line will furnish longer tool life and increased productivity.
DR-DH Deep Drills
DR-DH drills can achieve drilling depth-to-diameter ratio of 7XD and up. Constructed to be employed on standard horizontal milling centers, turning, and multi-task machines. Use of supplementary machine and setup can be avoided. They will be available as semi-standard product in a diameter range of 25.4 to 69.5 mm (1.00 - 2.73").
Two versions will be available:
A Single Flute DR-DH-31.65-0350NC-2FS is a very rigid tool having a patented chip gullet design. It was engineered for easily cut materials such as cast iron and low alloyed steel.
A Double Flute DR-DH-31.65-0350NC-2FD has a double chip gullet for upgraded chip flow. It was engineered for drilling gummy materials like non-alloyed steel and high temperature alloys.
ISCAR DEEP HOLE DRILLS
With ISCAR's new solid carbide deep hole drills, you can safely drill up to 22 times diameter and attain bottom10% faster than with other solid carbide drills - and six times faster than a HSS drill. This capability can speed up countless high-volume operations. The deep-hole drilling station no longer needs to slow down a transfer line or stop it entirely because a drill broke.
Different target applications encompass deep holes for automotive, hydraulic blocks and die & mold work. A combination of features help the twist drills to cut faster, straighter,deeper, last longer and evacuate chips more surely. A unique high-strength core creates a more enduring drill point and allows for deeper flutes, enlarging the departure path for chips.
The drill tip themselves have a 140 positive-point, four-margin design to maintain the edge, reduce thrust forces and aid centering and tracking. A post-coat polishing method on the flutes, margins and cutting edges reduces friction and torque that can readily snap a drill.
